Why pay upfront for your new website?

Your contract starts with your first payment. That’s when we get to work on your new website.

The amount you pay will be the same for the next 23 months unless you decide to upgrade your plan.

Simple.

We get to work on your new website once you make your first monthly payment. If you change your mind for any reason in the first 30 days after we receive that payment, we’ll return your first payment with no questions asked.

We aim to launch your site within 30 days. The exact timing will depend on how closely you work with us during the development process to supply information (words and photos) about your business, and to provide feedback on the work we are doing for you.

The main things we need from you as the website owner are these:

• What you want a website for. In other words, “My website will meet my objectives if it delivers (fill in the blank)“
• Information about your business and the services you offer, including words, photos and your branding guidelines (if you have them)
• The types of customers who typically choose you
• Your ideal customer (this is often different!)
• Your engagement in the website development process. When website projects run late, it’s usually because the web design company is waiting on you for information, feedback and decisions.
• Prompt and timely payment of invoices.

Once you make the last payment, the website is belongs to you.

At that point we will either transition you to one of our monthly Website Care Plans or you can choose to move the website elsewhere. We reserve the right to charge a migration fee if you decide to move.

You can move at any time, once you have paid the outstanding balance for your website.

No you don’t. We’re happy to provide you with training on how you can make changes, but we find that most of our customers are happy to leave that task to us.

Our Pay Monthly plans are built using WordPress, an open-source Content Management System (CMS) which powers around 43% of all websites in the world. We’ve tried many other website platforms. Some of them are better, many are worse.

For you as the website owner, we think the main thing that matters is that there are a *lot* of WordPress consultants and agencies in the world, meaning that you will always be able to find someone to turn to if you decide to switch to another web developer. It also means that it’s easier to hire staff with the appropriate experience.

Not normally. We will include a number of premium plugins in the website we build you, but the cost of those plugins is included in the monthly fee. If you need some specific functionality that requires an additional premium plugin we will purchase the plugin on your behalf and on-charge it at cost (we do it this way so we have direct access to the support team for that plugin).

Call us and we’ll sort it out. It’s our job to make sure it’s up and running 24/7.

However, this is the internet and there are sometimes factors outside our control that may affect your website. To mitigate this have multiple ways of monitoring all the sites we manage. In most cases, we will know your website is down and have it fixed before you realise.

Yes we do.

We will back up your site every day to an offsite location. We store daily backups for at least 14 days as well as keeping weekly snapshots for 3 months and monthly snapshots for 6 months.

From time to time we will also create one-off backups – usually if we are about to either upgrade the software in your website or make changes to your site.

If we ever need to, we will restore your site from a backup. This is included in your monthly payment. However, if you or someone you authorise to make changes to the site manage to break the site, we reserve the right to charge you for fixing it.

We have a lot of measures in place to make sure this doesn’t happen including multiple layers of security and regular scanning for hacks and malware.

However, if it does get hacked, then it’s our job to fix it – no questions asked.

We will make any content changes to your website as part of the monthly fee.

If you need to add additional features to your website we will quote a fixed, one-off price to add that feature. In most cases this price will be all you need to pay. In some cases we may need to upgrade you to a higher pay monthly plan.
